Pentecostal and Charismatic churches of today are heretical through teaching false doctrine brought about because of a 2nd-century heresy and false teachings in heresies in the 1830s through the Mormons and the Quakers. Paul stated in Galatians 1:8 that anyone, even an angel from heaven, teaching a gospel other than the one he had taught , let them be accursed, an anathema, that is, may they go to Hell .
Montanus set the model in the 2nd- century A.D. for the heretical Pentecostal and Charismatic churches of today. These heretical churches of today create, supposedly, new revelation to Holy Scripture. Only orthodox doctrine through Sola Scriptura as set forth through biblical hermeneutics and exegesis in biblical illumination, church history, and textual criticism can provide the Truth that is Jesus Christ, the Logos, who shall set us free in the drawing of the elect given to Him by the Father.
Montanus, who had two female cohorts Maximilla and Priscilla who had left their husbands to join him, believed prophecy through revelations had been given to him and his church, the practice of tongues had been revived through his church, and the old familiar theme we hear these days, that is, Christ's coming is imminent. A revival of wild, ecstatic church services, as copied from the mystery religions in which they had slit bulls’ throats, bathed in its blood, and had wild, ecstatic sexual orgies. The church at Corinth (the Corinthians) had the same heresies, for which Paul decisively and heavily reprimanded them.
As previously stated, a reappearance of these heretical practices occurred in the 1830s with Mormonism and the Quakers. At this time period, other such heresies and cults began such as the Seven-Day Adventists and the Christian Science Church, which we see prevalent today through such movie stars as Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Another cult, such as the Jehovah's Witnesses also began their damnatory false teaching that Christ was only a creature. In the doctrine of the Trinity, Christ is the Son of Man and the Son of God. He is fully God and fully man. Christ is the second person of the Trinity; one person with two natures. The Trinity consists of three persons in one Godhead: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. If a person does not believe in the Trinity, he is doomed to everlasting Hell.
